Insurance & Payment Information

Thank you for choosing Cary Psychiatry Center for your mental healthcare. Our goal is to provide quality healthcare for you and/or your family. We intend to keep you well informed of office policies that may affect you.

Insurances Accepted

Allison Mikel, MD and Sahana Sankar PA-C, are preferred providers and considered in network with these insurance companies:

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield
  • United Health Care

Cary Psychiatry is not in network with any Medicaid plan or Medicare plan.  This includes any umbrella plans (ie: United Healthcare managed care for Medicaid, Blue Home, etc.).  We cannot accept patients who care Medicaid or Medicare at the self-pay rate due to prescribing coverage requirements with prior authorizations.

Cary Psychiatry Center utilizes an electronic medical record system called Valant designed to improve efficiency of communication with providers and insurance companies which minimizes the patient’s billing burden. We are happy to file your insurance for you as a courtesy but please note that you are responsible for knowing your benefits with your insurance carrier prior to each visit. You will be responsible for any deductibles and copay’s as well as any services not covered through your insurance at the time of your visit.  This cost is applied with your credit card on file with our office when the EOB (explanation of benefits) is returned to our office from your insurance company.  We do not send bills to patients for services, but will reach out if your insurance denies a claim.

Cary Psychiatry does not bill insurance companies more than once for a patient appointment.  If insurance information is not updated prior to your appointment, you will be assessed the self-pay rate.  If our office files insurance and your insurance denies the claim or does not pay it based on information that is  not the fault of our office, self-pay rates are applied for that appointment.  It is patient responsibility to keep insurance up to date with our office.

Self Pay Rates

No Insurance? No problem! We realize that many families do not have insurance or have limited coverage. For this reason we offer a self pay option, which is reduced from the standard rates with our office.
